The Hear the World Foundation supports projects worldwide recognizing that the quality of hearing significantly impacts quality of life. The Hear the World Foundation is committed to improving the well-being of people with hearing loss, and to advancing measures towards the prevention of hearing loss.

Procedure

1. Request for proposal 
Please submit your application by filling in the request for proposal. This draft will be used to decide whether support from the Hear the World Foundation is feasible. Please note that the average budget frame per project is 5,000 to 30,000 Swiss Francs.

The deadline for submitting the request for proposal is January 31st.


2. Detailed application
If the foundation decides that your project is of interest, you will receive
a detailed application form which you will need to submit to
applications(at)hear-the-world.com by March 15th.

Please send us an email in case you do not receive an acknowledgement of receipt within one week after sending.

You will be informed at the latest two months after this deadline whether the
Hear the World Foundation will be able to support your project.

Requirements of supported projects

Hear the World supports projects with a following focus:

• Education on the topic of hearing and hearing loss to contribute to a better handling of hearing loss and/or the prevention of hearing loss.
• Improvement of the quality of life and environment of people with hearing loss and the prevention of hearing loss through technology and financial assistance.
• Activities in the interest of the further development and quality of life of people with hearing problems, in particular in the inclusion of people with a hearing loss into the world of hearing and/or the promotion of understanding in society for the importance of good hearing.
• Scientific studies and research projects on hearing or hearing loss as well as on the handling with effects of hearing problems.

We place high demands on the supported projects, the focus being on sustainability and the likelihood of success as well as the quality of the projects. Only sustainable projects do have a chance to get funding from the Hear the World Foundation. 
In order to be able to achieve the desired effect, the Hear the World Foundation concentrates on projects that aim to support a group of people rather than individuals. Individual children in need do get support through the project “52 Children”.

Additional criteria

• Projects to the success of which the beneficiaries themselves contribute.
  Projects that are integrated into local structures and cultures or that are firmly rooted in a scientific institution.
• Projects that are visualizable and presentable.
• Projects capable of being replicated in other places or under the aegis of other institutions. 
  
  
  

We are not able to support

• Projects that do not clearly fulfil the requirements of the foundation.
• Requests from capital-related companies.
• Organizations or institutions already receiving support from another part of Hear the World i directly related organisations.
• Contributions to political campaigns or projects or to organizations with high political exposure.
• Contributions to the basic financing of institutions and other foundations.
• Contributions to infrastructure.
• Contributions to meetings, congresses and anniversaries.
