Modern hearing instruments are
miracles of technology
A modern hearing system is comparable with a very small but powerful computer. Up to 6 high-performance processors and more than 8 million transistors guarantee that a modern hearing system can perform 120 million transactions per second. The best thing is, the user doesn't notice it. He or she just enjoys the result: A preferably natural hearing experience in any hearing situation.
Modern hearing aids combine an astonishing range of functions in the smallest
of spaces:
- They are small and discreet and the ear remains open and receptive to those sounds which can still be heard naturally.
- They amplify speech, tones and sounds exactly when they need to.
- In complex hearing situations they pick out the signals you really want to hear.
- That they focus the hearing on the desired source, and block out unwanted background noise. You can now hear the person you are speaking with, despite loud music and background conversation.
- In cases of moderate hearing loss, modern hearing aids can restore up to 100% of hearing capability.
Hearing aids are tailor-made for each wearer’s needs and hearing profile. In terms of appearance and wearing comfort, hearing technology has made a quantum leap.
An outline of the latest innovations in hearing instrument technology:
SoundRecover
Following a conversation, understanding female voices, or hearing natural sounds, such as birdsong or insect noises can be challenging when affected by hearing loss. This is because, with some hearing losses, it is often no longer possible to hear the higher frequencies that are essential for hearing and understanding.
SoundRecover technology makes the full sound spectrum audible again. This means that problematic hearing situations, such as a conversation in a restaurant, children’s voices, music, or the soft whisperings of a loved one can be enjoyed once again.
NoiseBlock and WindBlock Management
These technologies make interference and wind noise a thing of the past. With conventional hearing instruments, a windy day can sound like someone blowing directly into the hearing instrument’s microphone and can cause highly irritating interference noise. The two technologies eliminate these effects and ensure that you have no problems with disturbing noise.
RealEar Sound
Two ears hear better than one. It is not by chance that we have two of them! Because the ears are positioned on opposite sides, sounds reach one ear a brief instant before they reach the other. This helps us to locate a sound source quickly, allowing us to recognize a danger, such as an approaching car, even though we cannot see it. Equally important is the fact that sound quality is markedly better when the sound is heard with two ears.
In cases of bilateral hearing loss, RealEar Sound imitates this function of hearing:
a sound reaching one hearing instrument is transmitted to the other one with a slight time delay.
SoundFlow
The sounds surrounding us in our lives are as varied as life itself. Moving from one environment to another can cause real difficulties for a conventional hearing instrument.
With SoundFlow, even sudden changes in hearing situations are not a problem: SoundFlow automatically forms a smooth transition from one acoustic situation to another – all with maximum clarity and outstanding comfort.
