Roderick „Rod“ Stewart, born and raised by Scottish-English parents, is a singer and songwriter. With his distinctive raspy voice he was known in the late sixties and early seventies as singer of „The Jeff Beck Group and The Faces“ before he started his solo career in 1969 with his debut album, “An Old Raincoat Won’t Ever Let You Down.“ During his more than 40 year career, Rod Stewart has had many world hits.  He was particularly popular in Great Britain, where he had six albums in a row that made it to the charts along with 62 hit singles and out of those, 24 made it in the top ten and 6 making it all the way to number one. Today he is „Commander of the Order of the British Empire“, along with his support for the Hear the World initiative he is also a spokesperson for cancer research.
