Hear the World is a global initiative by Phonak that raises awareness for the topic of hearing and hearing loss, a problem that affects 10% of the world’s population. At the center of the initiative is a foundation that aims at protecting people’s sense of hearing worldwide as well as supporting people with hearing loss and their loved ones.
The purposes of the Hear the World Foundation USA, INC. are exclusively charitable, educational, scientific and literary within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, and include but are not limited to:

Awareness Raising and Education:
- Participating in and conducting seminars, meetings and lectures, and disseminating information about the subject of hearing and hearing loss, the prevention of, and dealing with hearing loss;
- Fostering public appreciation and understanding of hearing problems and the importance of good hearing;

Support:
- Through technology and financial assistance, supporting other programs, projects and activities focused on
(1) helping people with hearing loss and those close to them;
(2) integrating people with hearing loss into the world of hearings; and
(3) prevention of hearing loss; - supporting scientific research projects on: (1) healthy and reduced hearing; and (2) the handling and effects of hearing problems;

Activities focused on the further development and well-being of people with hearing problems; and countering the discrimination against them in society.

Cooperation with other charitable organizations whether local, national, or international, for any of the foregoing purposes.
