Better today than tomorrow

Support is a major step on the path to obtaining a solution. Despite all the drawbacks of not being able to hear well, the average person with hearing loss waits ten years before taking action. Not only does this reduce their quality of life, it can also result in their brain losing its capacity to recognize everyday sounds, along with psychological difficulties associated with isolation.

The Hear the World initiative offers targeted support to the hard of hearing and their loved ones, encouraging a dialogue that can lead to a rewarding solution – which is almost always at hand.

Actions in case of suspected hearing loss
If you suspect a hearing loss and would like to have your hearing tested or if you intend to acquire a hearing instrument, you can contact a local hearing care professional. In most countries, the purchasing and dispensing of hearing instruments is a private matter. However, in some countries hard of hearing people are eligible for a public subsidy which covers all or some of the costs involved. In other countries the dispensing of hearing instruments is undertaken mainly by the public authorities.
