Musician in a Box: the concept

Musicians play in a soundproof glass cube which is integrated into a modern music pavilion with roofing. While passers-by are able to see the musicians, they are unable to hear anything. Headphones are provided on the plateau in front of the glass box, through which the music from the box can be heard. Passers-by shall therefore be able to creatively experience the sensation of hearing loss and how peculiar it is to see music being made while not being able to hear anything.
Promotional teams in the vicinity of the box raise the awareness of passers-by to the importance of hearing, and distribute informative literature on both the topic of hearing and hearing loss and the Hear the World initiative.
Next dates
10th of November 2007: Main station in Zurich, Switzerland. The Swiss Hear the World ambassador, Noémi Nadelmann sings in the box (1pm-3pm).
