Employees at Sonova donate 180 hearing aids to Cambodian children.
Last July the Corporate Human Resources and Communications team at Sonova’s headquarters in Stäfa, Switzerland, embarked on a very special journey. The 26 members of the team aimed to cover almost 7,500 miles on foot – the distance from Zurich to Phnom Penh, by counting every single step they took as they went to raise money for the work of the Hear the World Foundation in Cambodia.
Reaching the final destination
After four months of walking, the team finally made it to Phnom Penh and thanks to the support of many generous sponsors, their efforts paid off. In fact they raised enough funds to donate 180 hearing aids for Cambodian children in need. Sarah Kreienbühl, Group Vice President of Corporate HR and Communications and member of the Hear the World Foundation Board, personally presented the hearing aids to the Hear the World partner project „All Ears Cambodia“ during a project visit in November. “Our fundraising campaign has enabled about 90 children to experience better hearing,” Sarah Kreienbühl commented. “This gives them access to education and lets them develop at a rate appropriate for their age. We are proud of this huge success and I would greatly like to thank the participants and sponsors involved in this campaign.”
