In marking Hear the World Foundation’s 15th anniversary, we have been taking the time to recap and reconnect with our partner organizations, creating space to reflect on our achievements in terms of the lasting impact of our work and collaborative local efforts.

In celebration of our anniversary, we are taking the time to get back in touch with young protégés from around the world.

We recently caught up with Praise, a young girl from Malawi, who received hearing aids through the ABC Hearing Clinic in Lilongwe six years ago and has since learned to envision a future without limitations.

The Hear the World Foundation supports the Swiss organization Écoute-moi!, which has the goal of giving these children a life without limitations.

The three-and-a-half-year-old Phuong was born in Vietnam with severe hearing loss. A cochlear implant seemed unattainable to her parents, but the joint program of the Global Foundation For Children With Hearing Loss and the Hear the World Foundation gave them new hope. 

Sonova employee and Slow Fashion designer Morena Rüfenacht designed a cool t-shirt to support the Hear the World Foundation.

The Hear the World Foundation, in partnership with the Global Foundation for Children with Hearing Loss, is providing 10 children with significant hearing loss in Vietnam with cochlear implants (CIs).

On Sunday, April 28, 2019, 64 Sonova employees from Switzerland and the UK ran for Hear the World and raised awareness and funds for the foundation.

In 2018, Hear the World received an e-mail from Tighe Baier, saying that her 12-year-old son Isaiah had written a book about his experiences with hearing loss.

Although Peru adopted the universal neonatal screening policy, newborns and infants remain untested for hearing loss. For this reason, the Hear the World Foundation and World Wide Hearing Foundation International jointly launched a program in 2016 to test underserved children in Peru for hearing loss.
