Values & Vision

34 million children are affected by hearing loss worldwide and nearly half of these cases are due to preventable causes (WHO, 2018).

Hear the World Foundation partners with local organizations and empowers them to provide high-quality hearing health to children worldwide.

Our focus areas

Awareness

Educating people about hearing loss improves their knowledge of their own hearing health and can help eradicate the stigma associated with hearing loss and hearing aids. Our project partners educate families and children about the causes of hearing loss and provide them with information on prevention and protective hearing.

Access

By partnering with sustainable and scalable projects, we enable more children with access to audiological care and hearing aids. We ensure our project partners take a holistic approach and address the needs of both children and their families through early detection, treatment and aftercare.

Training and capacity building

The scarcity of qualified hearing care professionals is a widespread issue and we intensively promote the education and training of local professionals. We seek to empower local audiologists to drive change by building up their local capacities and capabilities to increase the number of hearing care professionals in their regions.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

These goals represent the global agenda for sustainable development up to the year 2030. Hear the World Foundation makes a valuable contribution towards: Sustainable Development Goal 3 (good health and well-being), 4 (quality education) and 17 (partnerships for the goals).
